Field Education through IPSEC

IPSEC provides an opportunity for students in theological ministry to engage in up to 12 to 15 hours per week during the academic year (or 35 to 40 hours per week during the summer) for a total of 350 to 400 hours per unit of supervised ministry experiences. Thus, one hour per week will consist of one-on-one theological supervision, travel time, on- or off-site preparation, participation in worship, and tasks.

IPSEC is seeking to work with up to three graduate theology students toward the end of building capacity for religion and conflict transformation, and track-two diplomacy, and church-state relations. We are looking to highlight work related to the following areas: a) the Decade to Overcome Violence of the World Council of Churches; b) issues of Inter-Religious Understanding and Dialogue; c) issues of Conflict Transformation so as to create opportunities for mutual learning and concrete skill-building in this field; d) we will connect practitioners and activists with others interested in putting conflict resolution into action.
